Remember: It is illegal in the State of California, for any company or idividual to perform home improvement services over $300.00, without a Contractors License, issued by the State of California (Do not be fooled by a standard business certificate or license).
Important: Make sure that each company has both Liability and Workmans Compensation Insurance! Some companies claim that they are insured, but in reality, they only carry liability insurance for property damage. Workmans Compensation Insurance specifically covers injury to company employees. If a uninsured employee hurts themselves on your property, you could be held legally responsible for their bills if the contractor is unable to pay, which could result on a lien on your property.
